EPI Centre: Healthy working at your computer ...

Important information for working in the EPI Centre:

• NO food or drink allowed in the computer rooms
• Electrical equipment (Hard drives etc) must be PAT tested before using in the EPI Centre. PAT testing can be carried out in Fabrication and Media Centre areas. Enquire at their respective Information Desks.
• Switch off electrical points before plugging in your device in the EPI Centre

For your health and comfort, remember the following when you are working at your computer at home or in the University:

• Settle into a comfortable posture - refer to the guidelines on this page
  
• Take regular breaks away from the screen
  
• Make sure that you are working in a comfortable environment. In the EPI Centre rooms this means:
• Avoid working in the dark. Turn the lights back on using the red switches on the wall next to the doors in the F-Block EPI Centre rooms
  
• Use the black over-ride button by the entrance to the F-Block EPI Centre rooms to open and close the top windows if the room should get uncomfortably hot or cold.
